Annika's interest in humanitarian affairs was piqued in 2001 when she became an advocate of America’s Promise Alliance through her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Founded by retired General Colin L. Powell, America's Promise Alliance creates conditions for success for all young people, including the millions currently being left behind through their partnerships with hundreds of national nonprofits, businesses, communities, educators and ordinary citizens. Throughout her career, Annika has continually dedicated herself to empowering others and giving back to charity through prestigious organizations.
Changing Destinations: Journey To Excellence, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to inspiring a renewed desire for academic, social and personal success in middle and high school students through in-school, after school, weekend and summer mentoring and leadership programs. Annika serves as an Executive Board Member and Project Manager for Changing Destinations. She works closely with the Executive Board to develop and coordinate events that support the program's mission.
Annika is an avid sponsor for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded in 1962, is a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases. It is located in Annika’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, and is a nonprofit medical corporation chartered as a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Each year Annika lends her support through donations and sponsorship of a participant in one of many St. Jude events offered year round.
Positive Outcome Mentoring & Dance, Incorporated (P.O.M. Squad) is a 501(c)3 created to empower girls to reach their full potential using a curriculum-based program that combines mentoring and dance. Annika serves as a sponsor for the POM Squad and lends her support to the organization led by Founder, LaTasha Casey. POM's motto, "Every girl needs someone positive cheering them on!"
Miss Earth United States is a beauty pageant held annually to select the United States representative to Miss Earth which is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Annika serves as Project Manager for the organization, overseeing special events and assisting with production of the annual pageant. Since 2016, Miss Earth United States has operated under the direction of U.S. Earth Productions, Inc / Beauty Beyond Borders, Inc (501c3).
